Easy Planting Instructions:
Success depends on creating good seed-to-soil contact at planting, soil moisture after planting and controlling competition from existing vegetation. Testing the soil fertility for deficiencies and correcting deficiencies will improve results.
Timing: Can be planted in late winter/early spring or late summer/early fall, depending on geographic location. Needs 60 days of growth before a hard, killing frost.
Reduce existing vegetation by close grazing, mowing or proper herbicide application.
Disturb the pasture soil surface. This can be accomplished by dragging a device like a drag or disc harrow, or by home-made devices like a weighted section of chain-link fence, or a shipping pallet.
Spread PastureRX by hand broadcasting, the use of a handheld or pull-type broadcast spreader, or pasture drill. Do not plant seed too deep, ¼ to ½ inch seed depth is all that is needed. After broadcasting seed, light dragging and/or rolling will enhance seed-to-soil contact.
Mow pasture to prevent existing vegetation from shading out developing seedlings. Pasture can be grazed once seedlings are firmly rooted, and the seedling plants have reached 4-8 inches in height.
Performance and stand life will be improved when managed to maintain a 4" post grazing or cutting height.
Coated by an exclusive protective layer
How quickly can it be grazed?
PastureRX can be lightly grazed as soon as the plants have been rooted firmly
Consult product labels for guidelines on planting following application
How quickly will it establish?
Components will germinate within 7-10 days with sufficient moisture
In order to get an accurate estimate of how much seed is required to cover your pasture, you should first calculate how many acres of land you have. Just let us know the length and width of your pasture in feet, and we'll take it from there.
Calculate how many bags you'll need for your pasture.
You'll need this many bags to get the job done for your field size. If that seems like a lot, you can hit the back button to re-enter your field size.
